State of Decay 2: The Best Bases in Providence Ridge

Updated on 6/20/2023 to include new information on the best State of Decay 2 bases on one of the fan-favorite maps: Providence Ridge. We’ve also included tips on choosing which base is best suited for your community.

When developer Undead Labs release State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition on March 13, 2020, they also provided us with a brand-new map: Providence Ridge. It joins Cascade Hills, Drucker County, and Meagher Valley in the vanilla game.

Providence Ridge contains an old logging town, various campsites, a lumber mill, and countless residential neighborhoods dotting the landscape. Each of these locations also contains countless zeds to slaughter and loot to gather.

But it’s the bases we’re keen on. Here are the best bases in State of Decay 2 – Providence Ridge!

Rusty Rosie’s

Rusty Rosie’s is a medium-sized base with a hidden, unique feature that makes it worth investing in: a distillery. Yeah, that’s right. Once you move into Rusty Rosie’s, you can craft alcohol to sell to other enclaves. Alcohol sells for quite a bit of influence.

On top of the distillery, Rusty Rosie’s also features a kitchen, auto shop, fuel storage that doubles as a watch tower, and a CLEO supply drop in the parking lot to open or dismantle.

It’s a fantastic mid-game base.

Westen Builder Supply

Here we have another mid-size base perfect for mid-game playthroughs, especially for those who want extra customization capabilities.

Westen Builder Supply features a custom storage facility, two sheltered bed facilities, an unopened CLEO supply drop, one large outdoor slot, three small outdoor slots, and one small indoor slot.

All-in-all, Westen Builder Supply is scenically located up north, near plenty of looting opportunities.

Lundegaard Lumber Mill

Lundegaard Lumber Mill is unique because it is the first base in State of Decay 2 to feature five large slots to build upon. For players who want to truly customize their base, Lundegaard is the go-to option.

On top of the five large plots, Lundegaard Lumber Mill also features a lumber pile, sawmill, storage facility, three small indoor slots, and four parking spots.

This base requires eight survivors and 3500 influence to move in.

Prescott Fire Station

Prescott Fire Station, located in the southernmost township in Providence Ridge, is one of the largest bases available on the new map.

Featuring a fully upgraded workshop, a fighting gym, a scout tower, an upgraded Firehouse Kitchen, with included food storage, and a utility room providing both power and water, Prescott Fire Station is the ideal end-game base.

On top of the many unique facilities, Prescott also features indoor sheltered beds, two small outdoor slots, two large outdoor slots, and four parking spots.

To move in, you’ll require eight survivors and 3500 influence.

How to Choose a Base in Providence Ridge

With so many exceptional bases in Providence Ridge to capture your attention and that of your community, how do you select just one?

It’s tough, but first and foremost, focus on your community’s needs above all else. Do you require more space for training facilities? Do you need large facilities for the end game in State of Decay 2? What about a central location for quick trips to the Bounty Broker?
