Of the four primary campaigns, including Cascade Hills, Providence Ridge, and Drucker County, Meagher Valley is likely the one most newcomers to State of Decay 2 started their campaign on. It’s also home to a few of the best bases in State of Decay 2, such as Whitney Field — a fan favorite.
Meagher Valley features fertile farmland, once-bustling neighborhoods, and soaring wind turbines providing the past residents with clean, renewable energy. These days, Meagher Valley is home to the undead.

Clarington House
Clarington House is basically a copy/paste of most starter bases in State of Decay 2 which, in this case, isn’t a terrible thing. The starter base is a solid foundation for any budding survivor community, with easily defensible walls, room for early-game growth, and a suitable location for looting the northeast of Meagher Valley.
Clarington House is small, with a Command Center, Storage (Level 1), Master Bedroom (2 Beds), Double Bunk Room (4 Beds), and Chef’s Kitchen pre-constructed. Once you move in, you may add on to the base with two small outdoor slots and park your vehicles in the two open parking slots.

Rural Police Station
A Rural Police Station sounds like an ideal choice in the zombie apocalypse, and that’s because it truly is a top-tier early-game base.
Located in the North of Meagher Valley, the Rural Police Station offers a Command Center, Storage: Secure Lockers (+25 All Resources, +20 Ammo & Fuel), Police Armory, Doorless Cell (+4 Beds w/ -10 Morale), and a Checkpoint (Watchtower Level 2).
On top of the pre-existing constructions, the Rural Police Station also features numerous open slots. These include one small indoor slot, two small outdoor slots, and two large slots, plus four parking spots.
Squelones Brewing Company
Squelones Brewing Company offers exceptional trade buffs due to the alcohol production capabilities of the various stills. If your goal is to farm influence, this base is for you.
Squelones Brewing Company features a Water Tank, Primary Still, Craft Still, and Tasting Room. It also features the Brewer’s Notebook passive slot and the clearable Keg Cooperage. Additional slots include three small indoor slots, two small outdoor slots, and one large slot, plus three parking spots.
Use your stills to create ethanol, then craft alcohol to sell to survivors around the map for influence. The downside? Running the stills attracts zombie hordes.

Whitney Field
Whitney Field remains a fan favorite after all these years. It is spacious, customizable, and defensible against the undead hordes.
Whitney Field features a Command Center, Storage Facility, Outdoor Beds, Announcer Box, Fortified Bleachers, Outdoor Beds 2, Sheltered Beds 2, and a second set of Fortified Bleachers. You may clear out any of the bed facilities.
Furthermore, you have three large outdoor slots, two small outdoor slots, and four parking spots available to you.
