State of Decay 2: The Best Bases in Cascade Hills

Alongside Drucker County, Meagher Valley, and Providence Ridge, Cascade Hills is one of four campaign maps available in vanilla State of Decay 2. It also features some of the best bases in State of Decay 2. At least, it features some of our favorites.

Cascade Hills is unique because of its makeshift bases, namely the Container Fort in Lymeston and Bridge Fort in Morgan’s Landing. Personally, I love the look of the makeshift bases, with hastily-erected walls.

Bridge Fort

Bridge Fort, found in Morgan’s Landing, spans the easternmost river and is one of the more unique bases found in State of Decay 2.

With sheltered beds, an Eastern Watch post, Western Watch post, and storage (+10 all resources), alongside one small indoor slot, two small outdoor slots, and one large slot, Bridge Fort is spacious, secluded, and easily defensible.

If a nice view and a post-apocalyptic, makeshift-vibe entice you, then Bridge Fort is your starter base in Cascade Hills.

Container Fort

Here we have yet another makeshift base in State of Decay 2. The Container Fort, found in Lymeston, is one of seven home sites in Cascade Hills, and spacious enough for eight survivors.

Container Fort features the Firesafe Storage (+20 Ammo & Food), Workshop, five small outdoor slots, two large slots, and three parking spots.

If you have 3500 influence to spare, and want the aesthetic of a makeshift base, then Container Fort is a solid choice with tall, durable walls on every side.

Corner Office

Corner Office appears boring at first, especially when compared to, say, Container Fort or Loch & Keogh Self Storage. After all, it’s an office building located on, you guessed it, a corner lot in town.

The big upside to the Corner Office, however, is that, when you lock down the local police station as an outpost, you create an area of influence within the entire town. It’s a big win for your meager band of survivors.

Logistically, the Corner Office features a Chic Eatery (Kitchen Lv. 2), Overlook (Watchtower), and Sheltered Beds. On top of the unique lots, this base also features one small indoor slot, three small outdoor slots, and one large slot, plus two parking spots.

Loch & Keogh Self Storage

Loch & Keogh Self Storage is, in many people’s eyes, one of the best bases State of Decay 2. It’s certainly up there.

Located in the northernmost town in Cascade Hills, Loch & Keogh Self Storage features a total of 14 slots, including Sheltered Beds, Watchtower, Elaborate Storage, and a Secret Distillery. But that’s not all. It also includes two small outdoor slots, one large slot, three parking spots, and two abandoned locker clearables.

For six survivors, and a cost of 1500 influence, Loch & Keogh is affordable, defensible, and pretty damn cool, too.
