State of Decay 2: The Best Bases in Drucker County

Drucker County, alongside Cascade Hills, Meagher Valley, and Providence Ridge, make up the four primary campaigns in State of Decay 2. It is home to a number of the best bases in State of Decay 2, such as Knight’s Family Drive-In and the Barricades Strip Mall.

Once home to wild bison and buffalo, Drucker County underwent a major expansion, leading to residential neighborhoods, farmlands, and minor cities. Today, the county is home to evacuation centers, military blockades, and the undead.

Cabin Park Motel

Cabin Park Motel would seem an odd choice to many but think about it. This base offers excellent exterior fortifications, a ton of customization possibilities, and a scenic view.

The built-in facilities include a County Kitchen, Old Well, and Storage. You can also clear out the Sheltered Beds, Heavy Trash, and Seating Area. Furthermore, open plots include one small indoor slot, two large slots, and two parking spots.

The downside to the Cabin Park Motel, unfortunately, is its location. It’s way down south, away from most looting locations.

Wheelhouse Truck Stop

Wheelhouse Truck Stop looks cool but is relatively small. Despite its size, this base is great for mid-game survival, with a few built-in facilities, clearable spaces, and a cheap asking price (1,000 influence).

The Wheelhouse Truck Stop comes equipped with Outdoor Beds, a Restaurant Kitchen, a Huge Fuel Storage, and an Auto Shop. You can clear out the two Seating Areas for additional space. But that’s not all. You’ll also have a single large slot and four parking spots.

Overall, if you plan on clearing the west side of Drucker County, the Wheelhouse Truck Stop offers a solid staging area.

Knight’s Family Drive-In

Knight’s Family Drive-In offers plenty of layout customizations, thanks to its numerous built-in facilities and open construction slots. Its location is a little out of the way, but that’s nothing a fast car can’t handle.

All-in-all, the Knight’s Family Drive-In features a Gate Tower, Employee Bathroom, Concession Kitchen, and Drive-In Theater, which offers a significant morale boost. On top of all that, you have one small indoor slot, three small outdoor slots, and one large outdoor slot. Plus, four parking spots for your rides.

To nab this one, you’ll need six survivors and 1,500 influence in total.

Barricaded Strip Mall

Barricaded Strip Mall is a personal favorite base in State of Decay 2. It features six stores, connected via a single corridor in the back, and a massive open front with room to build.

Speaking of building, the Barricaded Strip Mall offers an Urgent Care, a Tae-Kwon-Do Gym, an Employee Bathroom, a High-End Kitchen, and Sheltered Beds. For clearable lots, you have a liquor store and laundromat. The open slots include one small outdoor slot and three large slots. And for parking, there’s room for three vehicles.
