Starfield: Where to Find Aldumite

With so many unique resources to uncover and drill, one would imagine a rare resource only found on a single planet would prove extremely useful for crafting and whatnot. Here is where to get Aldumite in Starfield, which should prove you wrong.

Where to Get Aldumite in Starfield

You can get Aldumite in Starfield from a number of key locations, including vendors such as Jemison Mercantile in New Atlantis or Midtown Minerals in Akila City. But if you’d rather source it yourself, construct an outpost on Schrodinger II. It is the only planet in the Settled Systems where you can find Aldumite, making it one of the rarest resources in the game.

Honestly, you’re better off just buying some in small quantities from:

  • Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis)
  • UC Distribution Center (New Atlantis)
  • Sieghart’s Outfitters (Neon)
  • Mining League (Neon)
  • Midtown Minerals (Akila City)

They all have limited stock, however, so you may have to wait 24 in-game hours for their inventories to reset before you can buy more. That, or hop around from city to city buying everything in sight!

What is Aldumite Used For in Starfield?

Despite its rarity, you would think Aldumite would prove more useful overall. In all actuality, Aldumite is relatively useless. You can use it to craft a single component: Aldumite Drilling Rig. To construct the rig, you require:

  • 2x Caesium
  • 1x Drilling Rig
  • 1x Microsecond Regulator
  • 4x Aldumite

Alternatively, you can purchase an Aldumite Drilling Rig from UC Exchange in Cydonia, Shepherd’s General Store in Akila City, or Outland in New Atlantis.

Despite not being overly useful for crafting, construction, or research, Aldumite will sell for 84 credits per unit. As such, it’s worth farming with the Drilling Rig and then selling batches to the Trade Authority to earn copious amounts of credits. You can earn enough to buy a ship relatively fast!
