Fallout 76: Where to Farm Fusion Cores

One of the most viable and enticing character builds in Fallout 76 revolves around wearing a suit of Power Armor and devastating every foe with a Gatling Laser. At least, that’s how I wind up playing the game. But to keep the tank running, you require a steady supply of Fusion Cores. Here is where to farm Fusion Cores in Fallout 76!

Where to Get Fusion Cores in Fallout 76

To get Fusion Cores in Fallout 76, you must scour the wasteland for generators and armories, such as those in and around:

LocationRegion
The Sludge WorksAsh Heap
Fort DefianceCranberry Bog
Arktos PharmaThe Forest
AVR Medical CenterThe Forest
Hornwright Industrial HeadquartersThe Forest
Kanawha Nuka-Cola PlantThe Forest
Mama Dolce’s Food Processing PlantThe Forest
WV Lumber Co.The Forest
Poseidon Energy Plant WV-06The Forest
Palace of the Winding PathSavage Divide

These are just a handful of key locations where you can find a fixed spawn for a Fusion Core. If it’s missing, someone else on the server scooped it up, so you may wish to transfer to a different server.

But if you genuinely want to farm Fusion Cores in Fallout 76, then nothing beats claiming a Public Workshop. At certain Public Workshops in the game, you’ll find a Fusion Core Processor that, when fully powered, will produce one Fusion Core every 7.5 minutes. Visit one of the following Workshops:

  • Monongah Power Plant
  • Poseidon Energy Plant Yard
  • Thunder Mountain Power Plant Yard
Tip: If you intend to claim a Public Workshop to farm Fusion Cores, I recommend doing so in a Private World. You can access one by, unfortunately forking over cash for Fallout 1st.

How to Craft a Fusion Core in Fallout 76

Alternatively, instead of looting a Fusion Core, you can craft one should you have the appropriate end-game resources. You require:

  • 1x Pure Cobalt Flux
  • 1x Pure Crimson Flux
  • 1x Pure Fluorescent Flux
  • 1x Pure Violet Flux
  • 1x Pure Yellowcake Flux

Bring all six resources to a Chemistry Station to produce a single Fusion Core.

For an Ultracite Fusion Core, you need:

  • 2x Fusion Core
  • 1x Pure Violet Flux
  • 1x Ultracite

What You Need Fusion Cores For in Fallout 76

You will require a Fusion Core for a number of different weapons and armor in the game, but most notably:

  • Power Armor
  • Gatling Laser
  • Ultracite Gatling Laser

Your Power Armor constantly whittles down the charge of a Fusion Core, and using V.A.T.S. while in Power Armor reduces the charge even further. It’s something to keep in mind if you run a V.A.T.S. build in Fallout 76!

Goblins & Ghouls built a suit of Power Armor and wasted way too many Fusion Cores for this guide in Fallout 76. Keep an eye out for additional guides, such as:
