There are several eerie locations across Appalachia that you may stumble upon once or twice but rarely ever enter unless necessary. This is one of them. Unless you’re taking part in Uranium Fever, chances are you won’t visit the mine often. How to Find Blackwater Mine in Fallout 76
Blackwater Mine is one of the more accessible locations to track down due to its proximity to The Whitespring Resort. If you fast-travel to The Whitespring, immediately turn and walk east across the train tracks and just up the hill to the northeast. It’s a fenced-off area with the mine entrance in the back of the POI, some machinery, and a Protectron guarding the entrance.
The interior of the mine itself is dank and dark. There is an unsettling haze muddying up the area, reducing visibility and casting shadows that’ll make those in Power Armor jump.
Quests at Blackwater Mine
You may visit Blackwater Mine in Fallout 76 for a handful of reasons. First and foremost, most players wind up here due to the Public Event, Uranium Fever, a favorite amongst the community for its end-game rewards, like Treasury Notes.
Otherwise, you’ll wind up at the mine for two other quests:
- Lost and Found
- A repeatable side quest in which you must open a locker within the mine for loot.
- Key to the Past
- A main quest for Rose in which you must track down the holotape key fragments from five Raider leaders across Appalachia. There’s a terminal in the foyer of Blackwater Mine with additional information on the keys.

Inside of Blackwater Mine, you can find varying loot. Some of these items, mainly the Magazines and Bobbleheads, only spawn occasionally and randomly. Other key loot includes:
