Fallout 76: Every Main Quest in the Game

While Fallout 76 was absolutely billed as an “MMO,” which means a lot of grinding and skipping dialogue lines, developer Bethesda put a ton of heart and manpower behind the main quests and storyline. Despite the launch issues, despite the microtransactions, the main quests in Fallout 76 were a ton of fun and a welcome distraction from exploring Appalachia.

But if you’re a new or returning player, especially before the introduction of NPCs and the revamped main storyline, you may be a little confused here. Where do you start? Which main quests in Fallout 76 come next?

Follow the Main Quests in Fallout 76

As a low-level player, following along with the main quest line is an easy way to accumulate rewards — caps, weapons, armor, experience points, and more. Plus, on top of the cool gear, the main quest will send you all over Appalachia. You’ll have a chance to truly explore the handcrafted game world Bethesda is so very proud to show off.

How Do You Start the Main Quest in Fallout 76?

The quest ‘Reclamation Day’ begins immediately upon completing the character creation. You’re tasked with picking up a Pip-Boy, leaving Vault 76, and follow the Overseer’s trail. It’s easy enough, and you’ll receive a few rewards and a fine introduction to game mechanics in return.

‘First Contact’ is the true first mission of the main story, and it involves, once more, following the Overseer. You’ll find their C.A.M.P., along with a few crafting materials and a quick tutorial to craft a piece of armor and a weapon.

Fallout 76 Flatwoods

From there, you have a choice. You can keep going to Flatwoods, which features a few side quests of its own, or you can visit the Wayward to meet Duchess, which begins its own questline.

What did you think of Fallout 76‘s story? Was it worth the price of admission, or do you prefer exploration and combat over dialogue and role-playing?
