A quick money-making guide like this one should help you bolster your bank account for your next trip into Blackwater!

What is Gold in Red Dead Online?

Gold is the second form of currency used in Red Dead Online. It can be used to purchase Roles, such as Bounty Hunter or Moonshiner, and also allows you to purchase various items in shops across the game world.

The thing is, Gold makes the world go ’round. It unlocks some of the best content in the game, which are the various Roles that each unlock new jobs and abilities themselves.

You want Gold!

How to Earn Gold in Red Dead Online

When it comes to earning gold online, you have a few options.

Complete Daily Challenges

Each day, Rockstar introduces Daily Challenges in Red Dead Online that, if you complete, net you 0.10 Gold.

Yeah, one-tenth of a Gold bar is not a lot, but it will add up over time.

Furthermore, the more Daily Challenges you complete, the higher your streak. Eventually, you’ll earn 0.25 Gold per challenge completed.

Score Promotions

On occasion, like in Grand Theft Auto Online, Rockstar will hold various promotions or events in-game to help entrepreneurial players like yourself earn additional income.

Each Tuesday, via the Rockstar Newswire, weekly incentives and bonuses are announced, including which game modes and in-game activities will net you more Gold and Money.

Follow Treasure Maps

There are a few ways to acquire treasure maps in Red Dead Online. You can loot dead bodies, level up (you receive a treasure map every five levels), or complete in-game activities and earn maps as rewards.

Once you solve the mystery of the treasure map, you’ll receive Money and Gold. The amount you receive of each depends on the treasure map and its mystery.

Go Bounty Hunting

Sure, you need 15 Gold simply to unlock the Bounty Hunter career path, but consider it an investment.

Unlike other Roles in Red Dead Online, Bounty Hunting provides both Money and Gold, albeit in small amounts for the latter, with each bounty you turn in to the local law.

The longer and more difficult the bounty, the more it pays.

Play Competitive PvP Modes

If you fancy yourself a PvP player, completing Deathmatches and Races can earn you plenty of Gold and Money.

Even if you place last, you’ll earn rewards, so pay attention to whichever event Rockstar plans to highlight for the week for bonus income and experience points, then play it constantly.
