How to Farm Caps in Fallout 76

Fallout 76: How to Farm Caps

They say money makes the world go round, but in the case of Fallout 76, it’s caps. But with a bustling player economy to navigate, how do you farm caps in Fallout 76? You need them to buy ammunition, building plans, and Stimpaks, and keeping a small stockpile is ever-useful, but if you’re lacking in the money department, finding more can prove troublesome in the post-apocalypse.

Top Ways to Farm Caps in Fallout 76

Do you want to accumulate wealth? Do you want to do so without getting a job? Well, you’re in luck, because we have surefire methods to farm caps in Fallout 76 and amass wealth the likes of which only diehard players have witnessed at level 600!

Hit the Daily Cap Limit From Vendors

Did you know that the NPC vendors scattered about the world have a daily cap limit? It’s true! The vendor cap limit is set to 1,400 caps, and you can hit that relatively quickly each day.

Now, it’s important to note that the vendors essentially share a caps stash. To put it plainly, you can sell 1,400 caps worth of items to one vendor, or to a combination of vendors, until you hit that limit, and then you’re cut off for the day.

The easiest way to hit your daily cap limit is by selling unused ammunition, food and drinks, like purified water, and Nuka Cola.

I mean, seriously, how many spare Nuka Cola do you have? Personally, I have hundreds of bottles that sit in my stash unopened. They’re worth caps!

Build a CAMP Vending Machine

One of the best money-making methods in Fallout 76 is to construct a CAMP vending machine and sell unwanted weapons, armor, plans, consumables, and ammunition.

You see them at everyone’s camps, and you likely spend your limited amount of caps each time you visit one, right? Same!

But if you set up your own vending machine, you can start raking in the money. The downside, however, is that you’ll need to adequately price your items to sell. If you price too high, no one will buy from you, and those items continue to take up inventory space.

It’s best to visit a few camps in your session, see what others sell items for, and mimic their prices.

Take Part in Events

There are numerous world events in Fallout 76 that pay handsomely, both in terms of caps and rare items that you may wish to sell for a tidy sum.

So, which events should you focus on? The best-paying world events include Uranium Fever, A Colossal Problem, Scorched Earth, and Free Range. These will net you plenty of caps and Legendary items to sell to vendors or in your newly constructed vending machine.

Plus, world events have the added benefit of providing you with content. If you beat the main story, chances are you’re dying for something to do in the wasteland, right?
