Fallout 76: How to Level Up Fast

At the time of this writing, Fallout 76 peaked at almost 12,000 concurrent players on Steam. We bet not all of you still enjoying the open-world action-adventure game from Bethesda have reached max level yet. If you need a little help on how to level up fast in Fallout 76, well, you’ve come to the right place!

Level Up Fast in Fallout 76 in 2021!

This is not your grandpa’s Fallout. In Fallout 76, leveling up is vastly different to Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, or even Fallout 4.

You can still complete NPC-given quests, kill monsters, and craft items from scrap to accumulate experience points (XP). But those methods are trite. Unless you genuinely enjoy the grind, you need a better way to level up fast in Fallout 76.

Skip the Quests

Yeah, this is one “role-playing game” in which we recommend skipping the quests altogether if you want to level up fast. The quests in Fallout 76 are weak when it comes to awarded XP.

If you’re new, by all means, follow the main quest. It opens up new events and locations, most of which are interesting.

Otherwise, spend time grinding experience points elsewhere.

Scrapping and Construction

Believe it or not, in Fallout 76, scrapping and building earn you the easiest and quickest XP. By scrapping your accumulated junk, you earn a small amount of XP per item.

A “small amount” does not sound ideal, right? Well, play the game. You’ll note the abundance of junk. Before long, your inventory is jam-packed with useless scrap material.

Then, with scrap on hand, you can craft items at your C.A.M.P. for even more XP.

Group Up

While marketed as an “MMO,” Fallout 76 is not massive. It’s a misnomer. You can, however, still play with other players.

If you want to take on high levels areas, where Sentry Bots and Deathclaws reside, you’ll want to group up. For each monster kill, everyone in the group receives equal XP—the full amount—making life so much easier on you all.

Choose Your Perk Cards Wisely

Some perk cards, like Inspirational, under the Charisma skill tree, awards a 5% XP gain boost while in a group. Yeah, 5% isn’t the best but it adds up quickly when you’re eating through high-level enemies and locations.

Even better is, with time and experience, you can level up your perk card twice, earning you a cool 15% XP bonus in a group!

Pick and Choose Events

Not every event is created equal. Some are boring and lack any reasonable rewards, like experience points, which you so desperately need to level up fast.

Focus your attention on events such as ‘Guided Medication at The Palace of the Winding Path’. Any event that involves waves of high-level enemies is ideal.

Defend Workshops

Taking the time to defend a workshop can bring in a ton of XP and allow you to temporarily claim raw materials for crafting, thereby ensuring even more XP later on.

Once you claim a workshop, an event will trigger. You’ll find yourself face-to-face with hordes of enemies hellbent on destroying your constructions.

You’ll earn XP per kill plus a batch for successfully defending the workshop.

Once you’re high enough level, launching a nuke for the first time will be a breeze!
